'May this be the beginning of a new tree life;an understanding of different cultures;ALL OUR HEARTS BEAT AS ONE UK Artist Cindy Lass, from North London has kindly donated her “Anne Had No Time To Blossom; Everyone Has The Right To Blossom” painting to the Meir Panim Soup Kitchen and Social Club in Tsfat, Israel which is run by Holocaust survivors themselves and attended by many other Holocaust survivors. Without the facility these people would never receive a hot meal. This gift has particular significance as the painting depicts the chestnut tree that Anne Frank famously looked out on to during her 2 years in hiding from the Natzis in an attic in Amsterdam. A special ceremony was held at the Meir Panim Soup Kitchen and Social Club in Tsfat, and was attended by Mr. Richard Ferrer, Editor of the Jewish News Sunday, 10th November. Amazing emotional day.Photographs by Laraine Krantz

The Soup kitchen Goldie took me to was very special indeed. The few holocaust surivors relied on food here to survive. My litherograph  ANNE HAD NO TIME TO BLOSSOM was hung on the wall in the kitchen and I handed out my postcards of it. The people were so kind. I know now what a blessing it is to be kind and think of others.

The event was 11th November and the choir was called: Niggun Atik - ניגון עתיק
