The Sixty-Five Roses Auction in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust at the Sixty-Five Roses Ball

Many years ago a little boy with Cystic Fibrosis overheard his mummy discussing his life-threatening condition. Unable to understand her words he thought she was talking about 'sixty five roses’. Today, “65 Roses” is the nickname for and a term used by young children with this genetic, life-threatening disorder.

It was such a pleasure to work alongside British actress Jenny Agutter OBE in support of the 2015 Sixty Five Roses Ball. Jenny, a Patron of this incredible charity and one which is particularly close to her heart, was curating a rose-eccentric auction for the event. A supporter of my 2006 exhibition ‘Cindy Lass’ Celebrity Flowers” in aid of the Elton John AIDS Foundation, Jenny asked myself and a number of well known artists to create a piece of rose art for the auction. Together with a number of sentimental items of her own - including her very kind own Zandra Rhodes wedding dress, the auction raised a staggering amount of money for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation on the night. Forever giving and tirelessly supporting this and other charities, actress Jenny Agutter was appointed OBE in 2012.
